Diabolo Tunnel is part of a large project  to build a 2,270 m-long underground rail link to improve the acces to Brussels National airport in Zaventem. 

Providing the northern connection from the airport, the work of the Diabolo Tunnel includes the lengthening of the current three-platform airport station and construction of a 1 070 m twin-bore tunnel with 7.3m diameter.
